Design and Simulation of 8~18GHz Double-ridged Horn Antenna

  • The horn antenna is an antenna with a relatively simple structure. Its bandwidth can be very wide, and has good fidelity in the time domain. When the operating frequency is greater than 15GHz, the backlobe begins to split and the sidelobe power increases. The addition of a ridge structure into the horn cavity can increase the bandwidth, reduce the impedance, increase the gain and enhance the directivity of the radiation.This paper designs a double-ridged horn antenna that works in a bandwidth of 8~18GHz. The HFSS simulation verified that the antenna has good electrical and radiation performance.
